Michigan State University (MSU) College of Engineering is seeking an innovative Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering Teaching Specialist to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate level in electrical circuits, electronic hardware security, and troubleshooting mechatronic systems. This position is a full-time, fixed-term, academic year (9-month) appointment with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2026. The appointment is a renewable three-year contract, contingent upon positive annual performance reviews and mutual agreement. While this position is offered on a fixed-term basis, we are actively seeking individuals who aspire to establish a lasting career in teaching and academic service at our institution.
The selected candidate will join the faculty team of the new Technology Engineering (TechE) program. This multidisciplinary program integrates expertise from mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, and computer science. Master’s degree by position start date;
Strong communication skills;
Demonstrated experience in working directly with the application/instruction of circuits, electronics, electronic hardware security, and/or system controls;
Ability to engage undergraduate students, communicate complex topics clearly, and apply strategies that foster student success.
Desired Qualifications
Relevant professional licensing and/or certifications
Experience with curriculum development
Three or more years teaching undergraduate engineering
Three or more years of industry experience
Additional experience with electronics and semiconductor packaging is a plus

The new Technology Engineering program in the College of Engineering brings together the strengths of electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering with computer science to create a truly interdisciplinary experience.
