Position Summary
The person hired for this position would provide ongoing clerical, technical and logistical support for all tasks, events, courses, and communications related to the successful functioning of the elementary and secondary teacher preparation programs at MSU.
This position provides program administrative support to administrators, faculty, students, and visitors including but not limited to supporting meetings, reserving rooms, developing reports, maintaining spreadsheets, sending out program-related communications to students, faculty, and K-12 partners and otherwise assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Teacher Preparation Programs. The person in this role serves as a daily resource by communicating relevant information via email, phone, etc. An essential function of this role is processing travel reimbursements for field instructors and coordinators and following university policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned to maintain the program and department's overall operations and carry out the mission of the Department, College of Education, and Michigan State University, including those normally associated with a Secretary II position.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with coursework in typing and shorthand; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, calendaring and/or presentation software; typing and filing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree plus facility with Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, Excel, and D2L along with general office management experience. Knowledge of MSU procedures with respect to reimbursement, travel, room reservations are desirable.
