Description of Work:
Teachers at the UNL Children's Center are essential to the success of each classroom, ensuring the safety, security, and developmental well-being of all children in our care.
As a Children's Center Teacher, you will:
Supervise and engage children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years alongside a co-teacher in an assigned infant, toddler, or preschool classroom
Apply your knowledge of child development to plan and implement developmentally appropriate practices and emergent curriculum
Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, parents, and other early childhood professionals
Complete administrative responsibilities including preparing lesson plans and maintaining documentation and child portfolios

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, and/or associates degree with coursework in Early Childhood education and two years of experience, and/or a minimum of four years of relevant early childhood education/experience required.
Must have practicum experience completed in a child care environment while attending school; significant, relevant experience may be substituted depending on the candidate's ability to meet the education and practicum plan requirements.
Must have experience and proficiency with basic computer software such as word processing, data entry, and email.
Knowledge of early childhood developmental care required.
Must have excellent communication skills that can be tailored to children, peers, parents, etc.
Must have demonstrated leadership skills that include the ability to lead a classroom of children and student staff while making independent decisions and solving problems in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field, plus two years of experience working in an early childhood program preferred.
