Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
Your contribution to NAGC supports various programs that advance the needs of gifted children. You can contribute to the area of greatest need or to a single program.
The teacher will implement developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum which encourages learning through exploration and discovery and promotes the development of a positive self-image. The teacher will utilize teaching strategies that support each child’s individualized learning goals including goals that are outlined on Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs). The teacher will model positive social interactions and language. The teacher will implement positive class management techniques and strategies. All practices the assistant teacher uses must be consistent with guidelines put forth by Bank Street College and the New York City Department of Health /Bureau of Day Care. Responsibilities:
