Position Summary:
The Graduate School of Education (
GSE) at the University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking an Assistant Director of the
UB Teacher Residency Program (
UBTR). The
UBTR is an accelerated, innovative, one-year initial teacher certification program for individuals who are committed to teaching in Buffalo's public schools. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Director, university faculty, partner districts, mentor teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders in preparing and supporting a diverse, learner-ready teaching force.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing support for mentor-resident pairs.
- Facilitation of professional learning communities (both virtual and face-to-face).
- Expansion of the UBTR Consortium.
- Leadership of instructional mentoring and induction support programs.
This position will be a one-year appointment. Additional appointments are contingent upon future grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the function managed and 5 years progressively more complex technical and managerial experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a Master's degree and university-based teacher education program.
- Experience working as a teacher in diverse and/or urban school settings.
- Experience working as a school leader.
- Experience supervising teacher candidates.
