Position Summary:
Prepares classroom lessons, facilitates classroom programs, and assesses student progress to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development in accordance with established curriculum. Interacts regularly with parents and trains new teachers and students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree or relevant professional experience may be substituted on a year for year basis in lieu of a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Child Development or degree in related field
At least 12 credits related to early childhood
Registry Certificate of a level 8 or higher or eligibility to register at level 8
Experience working with young children
Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
Ability to provide leadership and effectively work as a team
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds
Preferred:
Degree in early childhood education or related field
Two years of experience working with toddlers in a classroom setting
Knowledge of Department of Children and Families Division of Early Care and Education (DCF 251)

The starting salary is $41,000 annually.
