We are seeking a Program Officer who will work in coordination with the Director, the Program Officer, and will be responsible for the design and implementation of Gifted and Talented training for K-12 educators in the United States and select countries. The Program Officer will support the organizational goal of developing strategic partnerships with school districts and educational organizations to impact new student enrollment and drive revenue.
NOTE: This position is remote eligible during the pandemic. Once campus reopens (August 15th, 2021), this position will be expected to report to the Mount Washington Campus (Baltimore, MD) on a regular basis.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess, develop and lead implementation of professional development workshops for external CTY audiences including but not limited to school districts, sponsored partners, etc.
Develop innovative, scalable professional development training program.
Hire and manage a casual pool of subject matter experts in Gifted and Talented instruction/education.
Design smooth and timely delivery of virtual and in-person professional development session including operations and training logistics.
Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and multicultural competency in order to promote a culture of inclusion.
Facilitate systematic review of program standards to ensure alignment with CTY mission.
Promote awareness and utilization of educational technologies
Collaborate with academic program teams to review training materials.
Collaborate with research team on reviewing and implementing best practices for identification and nurturing of advanced learners.
Manage new and existing school agreements for professional development.
Create documentation and protocols for educator training.

Minimum Requirements (Mandatory):
Bachelor's degree is required.
Five years full-time experience teaching in a K-12 education setting
Three years leading professional development training for educators
Three years of direct management experience

Strong organizational skills and the ability to support multiple projects under potentially conflicting deadlines.
Demonstrated experience developing training resources and documentation.
Demonstrated experience in instructional technology or directly related field.
Strong ability to build relationships, motivate others and manage interpersonal situations.

Must be able to work competently with Microsoft office tools and other desktop applications

Position oversees one exempt staff and casual staff pool.
Ideal candidates will be willing/able to work evenings and weekends as necessary to support professional development inititatives, staffing, etc. Evening work is expected at least 1 - 2 times per month. Weekend worth expected occasionally: one weekend every few months, potentially during travel.
Travel for this position is required. 20% Travel is expected, beginning in 2022.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception.
