Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of experience teaching in early childhood education (infant, toddler, preschool). One (1) year of early childhood classroom management and supervision, involving experience supervising staff and/or interns.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Education or a related field. Experience in a full-day, early childhood, childcare setting.
Brief Description of Duties:
This is an early childhood, team teaching position based in a multi-age grouping at Stony Brook Child Care Services, Inc (SBCCSI). The goal of the center is a practicum site for undergraduate interns who will be supervised and mentored by this staff person. The Preschool Lead Teacher will be responsible for the overall coordination and functioning of the teaching team. The selected candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

- Teaching:
- Provides daily care and education to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children in accordance with SBCCSI philosophy.
- Administration:
- Participates in administrative duties that involve scheduling, hiring, adapting curriculum, and monitoring the condition of the facility and availability of supplies.
- Student Intern Program:
- Supervising and serving as a role model for undergraduate interns as well as participating in seminars and the grading process.
- Additional Duties & Responsibilities as Assigned:
- Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
