Assists in ensuring that all aspects of the children's welfare are met while under the supervision of the Dickinson Children Care Center. Assists in the implementation of daily program activities in an assigned group(s) including but not limited to leading/guiding activities such as reading, physical play, and creative expressions through song and artwork. May assist in the distribution of meals and ensure that classrooms and/or play environments are kept sanitary.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of an Assistant Group Supervisor(s) and/or Group Supervisor(s). Responsible for the safety and care of children, assisting with daily activities including but not limited to observing children to ensure developmental play, providing and assisting in personal hygiene practices including toileting as necessary, maintaining/enforcing good behavior, and assisting with meals/snacks.
Required to work in a variety of daily assignments including various classrooms, monitoring activities such as door(s) and play areas, and performing activities in support the operations of the center.
Understand and follow all center guidelines and policies including Department of Human Services and accreditation entity policies and regulations.
Assist in maintaining an attractive, orderly, and cheerful classroom environment that promotes active growth, learning, and a positive atmosphere for all children and team members. Provide guidance and developmental experiences meeting the appropriate educational and emotional needs of the children while supporting the philosophy of the center. Demonstrates positive communication with families at all times.
