Requirements
This position provides developmentally appropriate care and early education to children of Staff, Faculty, and Students of the University by:
Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children
Conducting programs and activities that implement the emergent curriculum of the classroom.
Developing and maintaining mutually supportive relationships with individual parents that enable both parents and teachers to meet each child's individual needs,
Monitoring and supporting each child's individual development.
Maintaining overall responsibility for classroom functioning. This position reports to the Director of Hoya Kids Learning Center. All child care center staff and Georgetown University student assistants work with this position and report to the Director. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and three years related experience in ECE or related field, or the equivalent in education and experience per NAEYC standards. Must have strong relationship and communication skills. Required computer experience to include word processing, powerpoint, email, use of digital photography, internet research. Experience working in a high quality early childhood program. First Aid and CPR certification are desired. Ability to work well in a team as well as independently, communicate effectively and respectfully to children, families and colleagues, build positive relationships with all members of the GU community, demonstrate initiative to solve problems creatively, and show flexibility and open mindedness.
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $47,586.00 - $87,558.13
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
