Responsibilities: | Prepares classroom lessons, facilitates classroom programs, and assesses student progress to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development in accordance with established curriculum. Interacts regularly with parents and trains new teachers and students. - 40% Plans and facilitates classroom programming and schedules daily classroom activities for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
- 15% Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
- 10% Evaluates individualized and developmental educational plans for children in collaboration with other stakeholders, as needed
- 10% Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
- 10% Mentors new teachers and students
- 15% Leads and coordinates the activities of the Eagle's Wing classroom support staff, student teachers, interns, practicum students, observers and volunteers.

Tasks: | - Coordinates and maintains licensing rules and city/national accreditation standards.
- Demonstrates and role models a multicultural, inclusive, and anti-bias approach to learning and educational environment.
- Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service.
- Performs duties in a highly diverse childcare center that provides early-childhood, 4K, and school-age programs.
- Provides support and assists as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency.

Education: | Required Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a closely related field, plus experience working in a full day, play-based Early Childhood Education program

Associate's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience working in a full day, play-based Early Childhood Education program |
Qualifications: | Preferred Qualifications: - Two (2) or more years of experience as a lead teacher in a full day, play-based Early Care and Education program - Training in High Scope, Pyramid Model, and/or Conscious Discipline |

Salary: | Minimum $45,448 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications This is a full-time appointment. The starting annual salary is $45,448 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.

Additional Information: | Primary schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the center's hours of operation. Schedule will be determined with selected finalist(s) at time of offer. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.
A criminal background check will be conducted on all finalist(s).
First-time employee must complete a physical exam (at their own cost) and provide proof of a negative TB skin test prior to the first day of employment, again every 2- 5 years.
This position plays an active role in fast-paced classroom activities with physical demands. The worker must be able to perform physical job demands throughout the workday with or without a reasonable accommodation. This includes abilities such as getting up and down from the floor, bending, reaching, and lifting, and visually monitoring children throughout the day.
