Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in elementary education (K-6); excellent oral and written communication skills; and evidence of skill in working with at risk student populations. Qualifying degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Organizational Unit Overview:
The College of Education is currently seeking a pool of individuals available to serve as University Community School Substitute Teachers in elementary classrooms within the East Carolina University Community School on an as-needed basis. This is a temporary, EHRA non-faculty position in the College of Education. The ECU Community School is housed within South Greenville Elementary School. Substitute teachers at the ECU Community School report to the ECU Community School Principal.
As an educator within the ECU Community School, the substitute teacher will work within a culture of innovation that supports effective instructional practices/strategies to promote student academic and personal success for all students in the school. The substitute teacher will work collaboratively with others to facilitate and implement innovative instruction to achieve the mission of the school. The substitute teacher will work collaboratively with the ECU Community School Principal and university faculty/staff to support the successful social-emotional, physical, and academic development of the students within.
