The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University invites applications for a Teaching Specialist, with an expected start date of August 16, 2024. This Academic Specialist is a non-tenure track, fixed-term, part-time teaching position, which is renewable each year according to performance and budget. This position is an academic year (9-month) appointment. Additional opportunities may exist for summer salary compensation. Candidates should be able to teach a variety of courses in Computer Science. The successful candidate will join a motivated team with a record of accomplishment in innovative course development, delivery and assessment. Those interested in research in pedagogy are especially encouraged to apply. The responsibilities for this position include teaching and development of undergraduate courses, as well as training and supervision of graduate teaching assistants, undergraduate learning assistants, and coordinating laboratory sections. Applicants for the position must have a Master's in Ethics or a related area, and with a background in Computer Science with substantial teaching and/or industrial experience.
