The University of Kansas School of Music seeks to fill a full-time, academic year (nine month), artist performer to teach applied percussion lessons (Undergraduate and Graduate) and related courses beginning on August 18, 2024. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track). This position will need to maintain a strong percussion studio, work individually and collaboratively in recruiting music performance, music education, and music therapy students; supervise/mentor teaching assistants; work cooperatively in support of the School of Music and the University, including service on graduate and faculty committees; establish a research/creative agenda pursuant of artistic growth and an expanding reputation of excellence; participate actively in the cultural and intellectual life of the School and the University. The successful candidate will be surrounded by colleagues who share a passion for artistic expression, educating students, creating professional opportunities in the field, and who are eager for collaborations and engagement in identifying innovations in learning, research, and service.
