The Physical Activity Courses program in the College of Health invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term, Yoga Instructor & Yoga Teacher Training Co-Coordinator position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head.
The position of Yoga Teacher Training Program Co-Coordinator/ Yoga Instructor (PAC) is a full-time 9-month, fixed term, nontenure track Instructor (PAC) role within the School of Exercise and Sport Science (EXSS), Physical Activity Course Program.
The primary mission of the Physical Activity Course (PAC) Program is to provide all Oregon State University students with the knowledge and experience to make sound decisions regarding present and future physically active lifestyles. The intent of the PAC Program is to provide quality instruction in safe, adequately equipped facilities and to create a positive, enjoyable learning environment.
This position will serve as an integral member of the PAC program team, where each instructor plays a specific role to the larger organization. Recognizing individual interests and abilities, the program provides courses covering a wide variety of physical activities. We make an effort to address contemporary trends and student interests. Offerings may include but are not limited to classes in the areas of aquatics, artistic & social dance, fitness development, martial arts, mind/body, outdoor recreation, resistance training, sports, and games.
This position will teach Yoga, Mind/Body, Meditation, Relaxation courses and will co-coordinate with Yoga Activity Area Leaders regarding mentorship of students within the Yoga courses and the Yoga Teacher Training Certificate (YYT) program and its curriculum.
Typically requires Master's degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in any field.
Extensive participation or involvement in yoga and mind body practices.
2+ years of yoga instruction experience and the ability to demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field or discipline.
Current certifications in yoga instruction, with a minimum of E-200 hour Yoga Alliance certification OR the ability to acquire certification prior to the start of classes.
Current, valid Adult CPR and AED Essentials and First Aid (the certifications must be completed prior to the start of classes; more advanced training will be accepted).
Previous experience facilitating/instructing courses that train individuals to become instructors.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
Final candidates for this position must complete a sexual misconduct reference check, per University Policy 05-010. An offer of employment will be contingent upon satisfactory results from the sexual misconduct reference check.

In the performance of the duties of the position, incumbents will be required to lead physical activity courses and demonstrate activity-specific movements for a minimum duration of 50-80 minutes during scheduled classes.
