The Center for Young Children and Families at Plymouth State University is seeking an Early Childhood Associate Teacher who is committed, creative, intentional and reflective in their work with children and eager to grow their practices. They will work as part of a collaborative teaching team to assist in the design and implementation of engaging learning environments and play-based, constructivist curriculum that is responsive to childrenâs emergent interests and needs and demonstrates an anti-bias approach. We seek an educator who can support children in: developing a healthy sense of self in relationships with other people, collaborating and cooperating to solve problems, and engaging in strong and playful physical activity. They will use effective communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate strength in developing relationships with children, peers, families and university students. They will strive to keep current with and utilize best practices in the field, serve as a model and support university student learning and use of these practices. The Early Childhood Associate Teacher will learn and utilize the Pyramid Model Framework and practices to promote and support social emotional competence and will demonstrate an understanding of and utilize positive approaches to guidance and discipline. They will be expected to demonstrate high professional and ethical standards. This position runs for ten months of the year (late August to mid June).
