The Early Childhood Laboratory School is the NAEYC-accredited child development research, education, and demonstration program of the UC Davis Department of Human Ecology. Program staff are committed life-long learners and enthusiastically engage in applied investigations of child development and early education. The ECL's research-based program for children ages 12 months through prekindergarten is a practicum placement site for upper division child development students.
Job Summary
Consistent with the mission and vision of the Early Childhood Laboratory, and under the leadership and supervision of the CCFS Academic Coordinator/ECL Director and designated Program Coordinator, the Lead Teacher:
Collaborates in the design, implementation, and evaluation, including child assessment, of classroom curriculum and instructional approach
Implements curriculum, and makes modifications as necessary to meet individual and group needs
Builds and maintains primary relationships with ECL children and families
Serves as a model and coach of HDE 140L student caregivers
Participates in professional communities of practice, contributing knowledge and expertise

Bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education
At least two years of teaching experience in a high-quality early care and education program; lab school or center-based program with a formal adult learning component preferred but not required
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
Ability to pass a DOJ background check and meet all California Title 22 health requirements for working in a licensed program
