Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
Join our NAEYC nationally accredited teaching team in providing support and supervision for children up to 5 years old. Our program offers child-centered educational programming that meets all local, state, and national requirements. This position typically works Monday –Thursday 7am-4pm and Friday 8am-12 hrs. can fluctuate based on University calendar and classroom schedules
A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Required Work Experience:
Previous experience in a structured child care setting
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Current Child and Adult CPR and First Aid Certification or the ability to complete prior to employment
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:
1. Effectively communicate parents at drop-off and pick up times 2. Monitor children's health and maintain accurate records of daily health screenings for each child as necessary 3. Act as a liaison between parents and teachers to assist children in transitioning during arrival and departure routines. 4. Perform sanitation duties to promote health and safety of children and staff 5. Assist teachers in managing the classroom to assure a safe, healthy, and positive environment for children. 6. Assist in maintaining all regulatory requirements governing center operations. 7. Independently observe and identify needs of the children without constant direction from teachers and supervisors. 8. Implement daily plans as needed in absence and/or with support of teaching staff. 9. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. 10. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to effectively communicate verbally, written, and electronically through parent engagement app. and other web-based software. Maintain appropriate attendance, timeliness and flexibility. Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment making sound decisions in regard to health and safety. Demonstrated commitment and/or experience and understanding for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
