Job Summary/Basic Function: The Hollingworth Preschool at Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a Part Time Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our on campus in person preschool team. The incumbent will demonstrate a desire to learn pedagogical methodology in the early childhood classroom, the cross domain development of very young children, and the support of a play based curriculum.
The Assistant Preschool Teacher will work under the direction of the center director and preschool director and collaboratively with the preschool staff to provide high-quality preschool education for young children and their families.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree MA in progress or beginning September 2022 One year of experience with young children in a formal or informal setting or as a caregiver in a home Ability to comply with the Teachers College Minors on Campus Policies as well as New York City Bureau of Child Care requirements including all mandatory trainings Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting Ability to adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality Ability to attend to all responsibilities with respect, initiative, attention to detail, organization, and independent follow through
