Job Description:
The recruitment and retention of students in College of Education and Learning Design programs has financial impact to the University since enrollment generates revenue. Attracting new students who might not otherwise have access to the regular campus-based programs is also impactful to the University. This position will regularly monitor resources that have been allocated to initiatives, partnerships, and events that the coordinator is leading. This will include recommending action steps, implementing specifications, time estimates, and overall project planning in a small to medium scope. This position will work primarily independently to keep projects moving and will be expected to develop project plans/events that have the desired outcome and will actively monitor and adjust as needed.
Position Purpose:
To coordinate and maintain offsite education preparation cohorts for SCSU's B-12 licensure programs, in partnership with school districts, Minnesota State Colleges, and Minnesota Service Cooperatives.
Responsibilities:
- Promote partnerships with current stakeholders (NHCC and ARCC-Cambridge, District 287)
- Assist with recruitment and development of new partnerships with programs and sites, including initiating initial relationships, technology needs, and support for new instructors.
- Assist in delivery of off-site cohorts to meet students' needs, and promote SCSU programs
- In collaboration with SCSU program faculty and staff, recruit students, advise students, develop student belonging supports, provide academic and career advising, and support with candidate program assessments.
- Assist with clinical field placements in collaboration with the Office of Clinical Experiences and Assessment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Student Services, or closely related field
- Successful experience advising/coaching college students/adult learners at a school district, college, or university.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to establish effective relationships with P-16 partners, students, staff, administrators, colleagues, and campus/community leaders to achieve goals.
- Proven written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively across a variety of platforms, and to a variety of stakeholders.
- Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from minoritized, historically marginalized groups, and/or culturally diverse groups, including first generation/adult learners or other non-traditional students.
- Personal computing/technology skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; experience in using multiple types of technology to provide advising and recruiting services.
- Evidence of demonstrated ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education or related field
- Holds, held, or eligible for a Minnesota professional teaching license (Tier 3, 4, or equivalent)
- Three or more years of teaching experience as teacher of record in a B-12 educational setting.
- Knowledge of the policies and procedures set for SCSU by the Higher Learning Commission, Minnesota State, and the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.
- Experience with cost/revenue budgeting and reporting.
- Experience delivering content via online technology.
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience with teacher education performance assessments.
