The College of Engineering at Michigan State University is seeking a highly motivated teaching specialist candidate for an initial three-year position with possible successive appointments based on performance and budget availability. The position will support instruction in the Applied Engineering Sciences program as well as curriculum development within the program. Flexibility to teach broader engineering courses in the college would be advantageous to the candidate. The position has an anticipated start date of August 16, 2022. The teaching specialist is a non-tenure track, fixed-term position and will appointed on an academic year (9-month) basis.
A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level is expected. The successful candidate will have a strong academic or industrial background in engineering analysis, computation, design, and data analytics with experience in MATLAB or other structured programming and data visualization such as Tableau or Power BI. Preference will be given to candidates who excel in engineering globalization, systems analysis and sustainable system management. Consideration will also be given to candidates whose experiences prepare them to contribute to MSU's commitment to inclusion and diversity.

Masters -Engineering discipline
Doctorate -Engineering or Engineering education
Qualified candidates will have a master’s degree in an engineering discipline with significant industrial or educational experience in engineering or a doctoral degree in engineering or engineering education with experience in engineering analysis, design, computation and data analytics.
