Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:45am to 5:30pm
Job Summary: The assistant teacher is an integral part of the classroom teaching team and provides a safe and nurturing environment for children ages two months to five years. The assistant teacher works closely with the lead classroom teacher in planning for, and managing, a classroom of children, assuming the lead role with the children when the lead teacher is working with students, parents, administrators and/or faculty.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a child care setting; OR an Associate’s degree and 6 months experience in a child care setting; OR Bachelor's degree. The assistant teacher must be able to provide visual and auditory supervision of children.
Preferred Qualifications: It is preferred that candidates have a Child Development Credential (CDA), an Associates Degree in Child Development or the equivalency.
