General Description
The Peabody Preparatory is pleased to announce an adjunct Voice Teacher position in the Voice Department at the Peabody Preparatory with an anticipated start date of mid-June 2022. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled and dedicated voice faculty as part of a vibrant and active department committed to helping all students achieve their potential; we embrace the novice musician and the serious student aspiring toward a career in music.
Ideal candidates for this position will have a background in vocal performance and education, with experience teaching elementary and middle school singers in person and online. Additional opportunities for class and/or individual instruction with teen and adult singers may be available according to departmental needs and candidate experience and interest.
Duties:
- Teach class voice for 9-12-year-olds
- Teach private lessons in "Songbird" lesson program for 9-12-year-olds
- Participate in/assist with end-of-semester presentations and performances
- Attend faculty meetings as needed.
- Other appropriate duties as assigned (eg, help prepare singers for chorus auditions)

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Voice and/or music education required.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.
- Experience teaching elementary and middle-school singers
Requirements
- Strong commitment to age-appropriate vocal development and repertoire
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with online meeting software and technology
- Independent transport to the Preparatory's downtown Baltimore, Howard County, Annapolis, and Towson campuses.
