The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Michigan State University invites applications for a Teaching Specialist, with an expected start date of March 1, 2022. This Academic Specialist is a non-tenure track, fixed-term, full-time teaching position, which may be renewable each year according to performance and budget. This position is an academic year (9-month) appointment. Additional opportunities may exist for summer salary compensation.
Candidates should be able to teach a variety of courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will join a motivated team with a record of accomplishment in innovative course development, delivery and assessment. Those interested in research in pedagogy are especially encouraged to apply. The responsibilities for this position include teaching and development of undergraduate courses, as well as training and supervision of graduate teaching assistants, hands-on component experiences in labs, undergraduate learning assistants, and coordinating laboratory sections. Applicants must have or be earning a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related area with substantial teaching and/or industrial experience.
