Position Summary
Academic Specialist-Teacher, also known as the IAT Programs Coordinator, is a one-year, full time benefits eligible appointment, renewable annually based on performance and availability of funding. This position is jointly administrated between IAT and FSHN.
IAT Programs Coordinator – This position will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the IAT in Food Processing, Technology and Safety Certificate Program to foster working relationship with the food processing industry, community college partners, high school counselors and teachers. This position includes teaching credit courses in the program and course/curriculum development; as well as some advising for students in the program. Required Degree
Masters -Food Science and Processing Discipline
Desired Degree
Doctorate -Food Science and Processing Discipline
Minimum Requirements
- Master of Science in Food Processing, Technology and Safety
- Five years of industry or teaching experience in the food processing field
- Experience in program management and evaluation
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a Food Science and Processing discipline
- Experience in recruitment and retention of students
- Food processing business experience
- Skills in career planning and placement
