Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
Lecturer of Secondary Teacher Education in Science
For the 2021-22 academic year, the School of Education may have a need for a temporary, part-time science instructor. The instructor would be responsible for co-teaching 2 science instruction methods lecture sections in the winter and spring of 2022. The course includes the modeling and unpacking of social justice, culturally responsive, NGSS aligned lessons, student lesson design and teaching, and creation and implementation of equitable assessments. The workload for each quarter is 2 units, and classes meet 10 times per quarter, in the evenings.
Service Period Dates for 2021-2022 Academic Year: Winter Quarter: 1/3/22 - 3/18/22 Spring Quarter: 3/28/22 - 6/10/22
Minimum Qualifications: California teaching credential in science. At least 5 years of grade 6-12 teaching experience in science. Relevant experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications: A master's degree in education or relevant content area. Experience mentoring or teaching pre-service teachers. Experience developing curriculum and providing professional development in curriculum design.
Salary: Annual full-time salaries will begin at a base rate of $56,945.
