The College of Education, Health and Human Sciences at the University of Tennessee is seeking a University Assisted Community Schools Coordinator in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education (TPTE). We seek a new Community Schools Coordinator to join our team of University Assisted Community Schools. The role coordinator is to provide day-to-day leadership of the full-service community schools including development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of a wide array of programming at Sunbright School (P-12) in Morgan County. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position begins August 2021.
The primary duty of this role is to work with Sunbright School (P-12) leadership and UT's Director of University Assisted Community Schools (UACS) to identify, develop and evaluate short- and long-term strategic UACS programs and projects aligned with Sunbright School's vision and goals.
Provide daily oversight for the UACS program and services for youth, parents, and community members, while working in coordination with the site principal and other school staff.
Develop and plan after-school program offerings, both academic and enrichment related, with input from staff, students, administration, and parents assuring culturally responsive curriculum and assessments of a diverse student population.
Plan and coordinate family participation events in order to strengthen family connections and foster a sense of community in the program.
Coordinate communications between school day and after-school staff.
Responsible for hiring new staff and establishing performance standards for supervised staff performed by community schools' staff.
Coordinate and supervise volunteers from the community and University assuring compliance with Morgan County Schools and University policy for programs serving minors.
Serve as a member of the school student support and attendance team to identify students at risk of chronic absence and disciplinary action, collaborating with the school, families, and community to provide necessary supports.
Develop and facilitate a site-specific coalition of community partners comprised of agencies, organizations, and entities that provide services in support of the school's mission and priorities. Guide and support the coalition of partners to assure programs and services are aligned and focused on results relevant to the priorities established by the school's leadership team.
Identify potential sources of funding, write grants, and effectively manage budget for all grants, gifts, and sources of support for University Assisted Community Schools.
Work closely with the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences' Director of University Assisted Community Schools to assure fiscal accuracy and accountability.
