Brief Summary of Work for this position:
Substitute Teacher
A substitute teacher at DC Virgo Preparatory Academy will support students in grades K-8 during the absence of the classroom teacher. Substitute teachers are responsible for supervising students in the assigned class, maintaining order and safety and executing the plan left by the classroom teacher. Substitute teachers will also follow the assigned schedule for the classroom and supervise students during arrival, breakfast, transitions, lunch and dismissal. Substitute teachers must be able to follow oral and written directions, take attendance and report lunch selections.
Support and Community Positions
School support personnel will support the day to day operations of the building. Tasks assigned to school support personnel may include data management, general clerical tasks, and others duties specified.
Coach
A coach will serve as a head or assistant coach for middle school boys' and girls' athletic teams. The community coach will supervise students, provide constructive feedback, organize events and logistics such as requesting transportation and ensuring uniforms and equipment are available. A community coach will serve as a role model for students.
Tutor
A tutor will support individual or small groups of students in all academic subjects as directed by the classroom teacher. Tutors will work with students in grades K-8.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma and experience working with children in a K-12 environment
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience :
2 or 4 year degree

Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment.
