| Department: Freedom Center Web Announcement: Preschool Assistant Teacher
The George Mason University Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center, on the Science and Technology campus (formerly the Prince William campus), is seeking a part-time Preschool Assistant Teacher from September to May. About the Position: Four-year-olds' classes meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. (work hours 8:45 a.m.-12:00 noon).
Responsibilities: The incumbent will assist the lead teacher in supervising the students’ activities.
Required Qualifications: - The incumbent must have an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood/elementary education or in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to satisfy the commonwealth of Virginia Program Leader requirements for administration of licensed child care facilities;
- Ability to attend 16 hours of yearly training;
- Must also possess or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
A tuberculosis test is required after hire. This position is subject to a criminal background investigation. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of this process.
