Initial Review Date (IRD): 03-01-2021 Dept Marketing Statement Colleges, Housing, and Educational Services (CHES) is a multi-funded organization within the Business and Administrative Services (BAS) division at the University of California (UC) Santa Cruz. CHES provides leadership in the areas of college student life and residential services, housing services, facilities, employee housing and capital planning, dining services, conference services, early education services, the Bay Tree Bookstore, ID card services, and business and financial analysis for these areas. Through these units, educational and developmental programs and services are offered to all members of the campus community including students, faculty, staff, children and external constituents. https://childcare.ucsc.edu Position Information The Assistant Teacher and Associate Teachers are entry level positions in the Child Development Center series. The Assistant Teacher and Associate Teacher work under the supervision of the Site Supervisor and Director of Early Education Services. The Assistant Teacher and Associate Teachers are responsible for the general supervision and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants, preschoolers, and school age children; ages 11 months and 12 years. In addition, incumbent may give direction to the Student Teacher's Aides. The incumbent assumes responsibility for the general supervision and safety of all children. In conjunction with the teachers, establish effective communication with families, attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, actively participate as a team member, and participate in professional growth activities. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Assistant Teacher Starting Salary: $18.96/hourly (Step 4) Associate Teacher Starting Salary: $20.12/hourly (Step 7) No. of Positions: 1 Benefits Level Eligibility: No Benefits Schedule Information: Part Time 40% weekly 16 hours weekly Mon-Fri Shift includes day Employee Classification: Limited Job End Date: 06-30-2022, with possibility of extension Work Location: Early Childcare Services Center Union Representation: Clerical Employees (CX) Job Duties 75% - Child Development and Education
