Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
We are seeking a full-time Faculty Coach for the Teacher Excellence Project who will be responsible for facilitating high quality professional development and reflective teaching practices for full-time and part-time faculty and will help to ensure their participation. This coach will also assist in implementing and Early Faculty Career Development program.
This is a full-time, administrative, grant-funded position.
Examples of Duties
Assist in implementing Early Faculty Career Development program
Design, develop, and facilitate interdisciplinary teams of faculty in Communities of Practice (COP) professional development activities
Assist in identifying faculty to participate in Faculty Guild/ ACUE activities
Asses faculty development needs and create faculty development plans
Assist faculty in all aspects of instructional redesign and course pilots
Coordinate faculty workshops and summer institutes
Assist in training faculty mentors
Assist in establishing a shared repository of electronic and video resources, including Open Educational Resources (OER)
Research and disseminate information on evidence-based instructional practices
Serve on the project management team and Advisory Council
Participate in project evaluation and institutionalization of activities
Master's Degree in Education or related
Highly collaborative and an expert at facilitating Communities of Practice
Proficient at engaging faculty in sustained professional development and reflective practice
Minimum of three years of teaching in higher education, including experience in faculty development
Knowledge of evidence based instructional practices and thorough understanding of pedagogical strategies
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
