Position Title: Clinical Assistant Professor/Master Teacher (non-tenure track)

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University at Buffalo seeks a Master Teacher to serve as a language instructor and help coordinate the pedagogical training of graduate teaching assistants. This position is divided into 75% teaching (9-11 credits/semester) and 25% administration. Although the successful candidate is not required to publish, engaging in scholarship activity that informs classroom instruction is strongly encouraged. Scholarship of teaching and learning is especially valued.
The successful applicant will support departmental programs and efforts at recruiting majors; attend and encourage students to attend co-curricular activities organized by the department, program development, participation in special programs or projects. Area of specialization in Second Language Acquisition preferred. Experience with language coordination, curriculum development, graduate student training, placement examinations, online and hybrid learning, languages for special purposes, and program assessment are all highly desirable. This is a one-year, non-tenure-track position with the possibility of subsequent one-year renewals.
