Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
The position has broad responsibilities within the UTeach Dallas program that include coordinating projects with the current Master Teachers at UTeach Dallas, recruiting prospective science and mathematics teachers, developing and teaching certification courses at UT Dallas, observing students in the field, and maintaining a strong working relationship with our partner school districts. The position will require travel locally and may require periodic travel to UT Austin.
Bachelors degree in the appropriate content area with a Masters in the content area, in a closely related field, in teaching/education (e.g. Master of Arts in Teaching in Science Education or Mathematics Education), or in educational administration. Teaching certificate in the appropriate content area with at least three years of teaching experience in addition to administrative experience in public schools.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Preference will be given to a school or district educator whose experience includes:
Recognized performance in teaching mathematics or science.
Demonstrated ability to apply STEM education research-based practices in the classroom,
Evidence of strong advocacy for best teaching practices.
Experience with underrepresented groups in STEM or education fields
Demonstrated commitment to culturally-responsive teaching pedagogies and promoting a diverse and inclusive classroom environment
Exemplary educational leadership such as a STEM coordinator, instructional specialist, or principal.
Demonstrated ability to work with school district partners on professional development
Experience with Problem Based Instruction
