The successful candidate will: have an educational background in Social Science and English and hold California single-subject credentials in Social Science and English; have experience teaching Advanced Placement United States Government, Advanced Placement World History, and English 9- 12 in an online format; exhibit strong communication skills.
The incumbent will teach Social Science and English classes. Teaching duties include, but are not limited to, grading student assignments, communicating with students and their guardians, maintaining the online classroom, posting weekly announcements, hosting live sessions via video conferencing, and facilitating engaging discussions on the course message boards.
The incumbent will monitor curriculum which includes, but not limited to, quizzes, exams, readings, activities, discussions, projects, course descriptions, syllabi, and teacher/student guides.
Incumbent will develop curriculum, review and guarantee academic accuracy of new and legacy curriculum, and work in collaboration with administrative, production, and instructional design teams, playing an integral role in the production and maintenance of online courses. Assist with the course approval process, prepare and review documentation in compliance with state, iNACOL, and Common Core Standards for UC CMP, College Board, and NCAA.
Scout from University of California is an online education program that is available for middle and high school students, teachers, schools, and school districts. UC Scout offers 'a-g' approved college preparatory and College Board-approved Advanced Placement courses online to support our mission of reaching educationally disadvantaged students across the state of California. By doing so, UC Scout raises student achievement levels and helps close achievement gaps. UC Scout teachers in the Social Science and English department develop, maintain, and teach online courses to middle school and high school students.
