Call for applications for temporary teaching position Studio Teacher, Classical Percussion
Description: Seeking a motivated instructor in classical percussion to begin Fall quarter 2019. Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of private instruction in percussion, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Music and significant professional experience as a percussion performer, both in ensemble and solo work.
Preferred qualifications include a Masters or Doctoral degree in music, a visible and significant record of activity as a professional performer (symphonic and solo) and teacher, and experience recruiting high school students to pursue higher education studies in music.
Duties of the instructor include teaching weekly, individual 50-minute lessons for classical percussion performance majors, attending annual auditions in the department and quarterly juries, recruitment efforts within the department, and completing mandatory online training. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreements.
