Position Description: The Department of Teacher Education and Foundations within the College of Education is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers to serve as University Supervisors for Student Teaching and Fieldwork in the Multiple Subjects Credential and Single Subjects Credential Program. Applications are welcomed from candidates in any area of Multiple Subjects or Single Subjects, with particular needs in the following specializations: Single Subjects Social Science, Physical Education, Mathematics, English, and Science; Multiple Subjects Bilingual Added Authorization. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants should be available on very short notice. Typical Activities Position Responsibilities: Our University Supervisors provide bi-weekly observation and mentoring to our candidates over the 10 weeks of student teacher or intern teacher placement each quarter. Supervisors serve as the primary liaison between the College of Education and the site mentor teacher (district-employed supervisors) and provide the evaluation for the student teacher candidate. Supervision assignments are available across dozens of school districts throughout much of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, and assignments are made based on Supervisor's district preferences and availability. Supervisors are expected to attend mandatory meetings and orientations at CSUSB San Bernardino Campus provided by the Department. Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications / Specialized SkillsCandidates must hold the applicable California credential and have at least three years successful teaching experience in the specialization for which they are applying. Furthermore, successful experience teaching students in high-need, diverse, underserved contexts are preferred. Candidates with prior student teaching/ clinical supervision experience are encouraged to apply.
