Infant Toddler teachers work collaboratively with a co-teacher and are responsibile for the care and education of young children ages 6 weeks through 2 years old. Teachers are responsible for creating a warm and nurturing relationship with each child and family, designing an environment that stimulates curiosity, and utilzing a dynamic child-centered curriculum that is grounded in knowledge of child development and hands-on exploration and play. Using observation and assessment tools the Infant Toddler teacher documents each child’s growth and learning in relation to his or her development and the Indiana Early Learning Foundations.

Formal education in early childhood education and center-based experience working with children ages 6 weeks through 2 years is required. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field is preferred.
