Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
Under the supervision of the director, incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the classroom. The lead teacher shares responsibility for establishing an effective environment for the children. The teacher is knowledgeable of the Center's philosophy, policies, goals, and objectives. Duties include: planning and supervising the classroom activities and providing an environment for 2 1/2 to 5 year old children that promote safe, healthy and free exploration. The lead teacher is responsible for providing an environment where the children feel safe and comfortable.

Salary: Hourly $21.54 Total Hours: 7:30-6, M-F hours varies Career Position. Valid Child Development Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Bachelor s Degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education or an equivalent combination of education and minimum of 3 years experience working with children 2 1/2 to 5 in a classroom setting as a master teacher. Ability to work effectively as a member of a child development team, with children, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a quality educational program. Thorough understanding of child development and the philosophy and methodology of early childhood education, as well as changes taking place in the field. Ability to work with and be sensitive to a culturally diverse community. Ability to relate to children as individuals and in small and large groups. Ability to plan, organize, and directs a challenging developmental and instructional program for preschool age children. Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations applicable to a child care facility. Knowledgeable of NAEYC Accreditation Criteria. Final candidate subject to background check.
