Working Title: Student Services Specialist--Toddler Lead Teacher
Appointment Type: AS-Fixed Term Terminal
The primary responsibility of the Student Services Specialist- Toddler is to provide care for children in a child-initiated, teacher-directed and developmentally appropriate environment. This position is responsible for planning and facilitating developmentally appropriate activities as part of a comprehensive program for children's physical, cognitive, emotional and social growth. This position also requires supervising student staff and observation students from UW-River Falls and other local agencies of education. Daily compliance with the Department of Children and Families Division of Early Care and Education (DCF 251), knowledge of NCA Accreditation Standards and YoungStar Quality Rating Scale are mandatory.
This is a short-term position (fixed-term, terminal), available through May 31, 2019.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree 2. Registry Certificate of a level 12 or higher or eligibility to register at level 12 3. Two years experience working with toddlers 4. The ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff 5. The ability to provide leadership within a team-teaching model Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge in all the following: a. YoungStar Quality Rating System b. Department of Children and Families Division of Early Care and Education (DCF 251) c. NCA Accreditation
