Job Description Summary
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Wake Forest University seeks a designer in any discipline for a Teacher-Scholar Postgraduate Fellow position to supplement a program which includes three faculty designers and three production staff. This is a non-tenure track, one- year position with the possibility of renewal (up to three years total). The position will begin in the fall semester of 2019.
MFA or PhD required.
Ability to teach introductory design and production courses.
Ability to contribute to our theatre and dance production season as designer or artisan. For this entry level, mentored teaching position, we seek a candidate who can join our team of designers and supplement our existing design capabilities.
Must have expertise in one or more of the following areas: scenic design, costume design, lighting design, sound design, projections and multimedia, scenic art, costume construction, costume crafts, properties. (Please indicate primary area and any secondary area(s) of expertise in your letter of application.)
Ability to teach design and production labs.
Ability to mentor student designers.
Ability to teach Introduction to Theatre or First Year Seminar is also desirable.
Salary Range: Faculty salaries at Wake Forest University are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
