Position Summary: Sy Syms Teacher Assistant (Accounting Department) supports faculty and students by creating opportunities to review class material and improve student performance.
Prepares and leads weekly recitation sessions
Prepares practice exams, review booklets, and supplemental lecture materials
Meets with professors to ensure recitations cover topics discussed during primary lecture sessions
Teaching Assistant Duties:
Grades student papers
Provides student support
Responds to student questions and emails
Experience & Educational Background:
An undergraduate degree in Business and/or Accounting with a minimum grade of A- in the subject area of assistance.
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work constructively with individual students and groups
Basic understanding of pedagogy and ability to instruct
Ability to create outcome-based review lessons focused on measurable success
