Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
Leadsclassroom promoting academic, social-emotional growth and development ofchildren.
Leadsdevelopment of partnerships with parents/childâs caregivers to engage andencourage parent participation in program with minimal guidance.
Leads age appropriate curriculum and activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of childrenâs development in their care.
Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the childrenâs learning and growth.
Performs on-going developmental evaluations of children as required by DHS and develop lesson plans and follow curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child.
Maintains ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers.
Plans and implements support for nutrition routines
Provides attentive supervision of children.
High SchoolDiploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and 18 Early Childhood Educationclasses (Required) and 2 years relevant experience
Bachelorâs Degreepreferred, but not required
Child care center basedexperience preferred
Demonstrate desire forprofessional development and growth
Strong work ethic
Ability to be flexibleto centerâs needs and hours
VUMC Child Care offersearly childhood care and education for the children of VUMC faculty, staff, andstudents. The child care program serves children age infants (6 weeks) to fiveyears old. Our centers are licensed by the Tennessee Department of HumanServices.
