Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in education, a minimum of three years teaching experience in PK-4 schools, a commitment to working in an environment that fosters diversity and collaboration, expertise in literacy education in the elementary and/or early childhood classroom, evidence of the ability to conduct scholarly activity at the assistant professor level, and a commitment to the Mission and Core Values of Cabrini University. Preferred qualifications include expertise/certification in special education.
Job Description Summary:
Cabrini University, located is suburban Philadelphia, seeks a collaborative and engaging educator for teaching in initial teacher certification programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. This tenure track position is a 9 month appointment beginning August 2017. Cabrini University is a Roman Catholic institution dedicated to academic excellence, leadership development and a commitment to social justice. Responsibilities: Teach 12 credits of coursework each semester at the graduate and undergraduate levels, provide service to the University, and develop a scholarly agenda as described in the Faculty Handbook (http://www.cabrini.edu/Academics/Faculty/Faculty-Handbook). Courses may include Reading and Language Arts, Teaching Writing in PK-4 Classrooms, Curriculum Methods PK-4, Teaching Socials Studies and Social Justice, and supervision of student field experience or student teachers.Work collaboratively with other Education faculty in program development and assessment, as well as engage in campus-wide initiatives and faculty governance.
