Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
The Child Development Center's Teacher Assistant reports to the Executive Director of the Child Development Center and the classroom Teacher. The Teacher Assistant is a full-time 10-month position, with an 8-hour workday. This position is responsible for assisting the classroom Teacher in the supervision of children in the classroom as well as assisting with the implementation of the curriculum.
Examples of Duties:
Assist teacher in providing appropriate early childhood experiences for the children in art, music, literature, etc.
Assist in promoting the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child.
Assist in the arrangement and upkeep of the classroom and classroom equipment and materials.
Help children establish good habits of toileting and personal hygiene.
Assist in supervising all activities to ensure safety of each child at all times.
Attend in-service training to increase skills in early childhood education.
Follow the personnel policies of Passaic County Community College.
Perform other duties as assigned
Child Development Associate or Associate's degree in Early Childhood or related field.
At least five years of experience working with children and families.
