Encourage gifted learners in a sense of social awareness and commitment to humanity and to their environment, and a respect for the worth and dignity of others.
Provide an educational atmosphere where gifted students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and social growth.
Organize and implement an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success. Be well versed and demonstrate current use of cutting edge technology. Establish good relationships with parents.
Have the ability to maintain and foster good working relationships with students, faculty and educational partners.
Be willing to run one after-school club and teach one elective.
Have the ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implement instructional activities and products of students' learning by using current technologies, including, but not limited to hardware, software, and web tools.
Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in personally and socially meaningful learning experiences.
Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with parents on a weekly basis. Collaborate weekly with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
Establish and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and peers. Demonstrate gains in student performance.
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
