Summary Description: The Middle Division (Grades 6-8) seeks an English Associate Teacher. The Associate Teacher is responsible: -To learn about new developments in teaching English and to practice implementing them. -To participate in grade level meetings and with individual teachers to understand their practice to optimize learning for all our children. -To actively participate in writing high school profiles and recommendations with a team of teachers -To fulfill duties, responsibilities and commitments as outlined in the faculty handbook, Working at The School -To participate fully in the demanding and rich life of the school
Minimum Qualifications: -B.A./B.S. degree or an equivalent degree or educational qualification from an accredited college or university -Demonstrated desire to teach Middle Division English in public or independent schools -Strong oral and written communication skills -Commitment to equity and justice including knowledge and skills related to cultural competencies
Preferred Qualifications: -Degree in English, Education or a related field-Knowledge of Spanish-Prior classroom teaching experience-Familiarity with new technologies
