Members to NAGC can receive three publications -- Parenting for Gifted Children, Teaching for High Potential, and the academic journal, Gifted Child Quarterly. All are available through the mail and online.
Humanities teachers report to the Middle School Principal, provide interdisciplinary instruction of language arts and social studies in the Middle School, and teach the following skills: critical thinking, reading, writing, research, and discussion. Middle school humanities teachers are expected to attend meetings, write narrative grade reports, respond to electronic communication, and organize and supervise student activities. Humanities teachers work in collaborative groups at departments and within grade levels; in addition they attend meetings to support the advisory program, and they serve as advisors to a group of middle school students. Additionally, middle school teachers meet with counselors, learning specialists, and parents when necessary, to provide the most comprehensive and inclusive approach to student needs.Full-time teachers are expected to work a 40 hour work week and the required number of days as stipulated by the Faculty Association contract. All teachers are expected to perform in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.Anticipated start date for this position is 9/1/2017.
