Supervise, plan and implement educational experiences for pre-school children with a child development focus in a laboratory school setting to support faculty research and undergraduate instruction in developmental psychology and early education. Coordinate with multiple researchers and supervise, guide, mentor and grade undergraduate students.
Oversee planning and implementation of curriculum projects and supervise activities performed by teachers and students; assign children/families and students to teachers; participate in hiring teachers; conduct performance evaluations.
Provide instruction to children; develop emerging curriculum and work with the children on short-term and long-term projects.
Use observation skills to record children's behavior and maintain anecdotal records.
Work directly with parents providing verbal updates and interpreting their children's behavior; hold formal conferences with families including initial developmental history intake and home visits.
Coordinate the needs of multiple researchers; assist in determining children eligible for research participation; work directly with researchers to facilitate faculty and undergraduate student research projects; help children to participate in relevant studies; help researchers develop rapport with the children.
Supervise, guide, and mentor undergraduate students observing or participating in the classroom; provide students with verbal and written feedback on their progress; assign grade to student for classroom activities related to their course work; demonstrate to undergraduate students the links between theory and actual classroom activity in support of the student's academic development.
Design, produce and display program content and the children's work; write articles for school newsletters; write articles for professional journals; present at parent seminars and at early childhood conferences; provide tours for visitors.

Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Supervisory training and courses. Demonstrated excellence in supervisory experience. Four years of experience teaching in the field of Early Childhood Education. Experience teaching in a laboratory school highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated excellence in the teaching of young children.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, students, and faculty.
Excellent leadership skills, including coaching and developing staff.
Experience in and responsibility for planning, executing and evaluating curriculum and educational experiences.
Certifications and Licenses:
Current Child Development Permit desired..
Frequently stand/walk, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
Occasionally sit, kneel/crawl, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, scrub/sweep/mop/chop/mix.
Requires good visual and auditory acuity.
